I’ve been an Osteopath since 2008 and I’m the owner of a clinic called Grey Lynn Osteopathy, in Auckland, New Zealand.  I have a Master of Osteopath degree from New Zealand as well as a Diploma of Manual Practitioner from Canada.

The recent COVID-19 pandemic has made the past two years a time of change, upheaval, adaptation and resilience for many of us. I firmly believe that the lockdowns that were experienced globally, although challenging, were a necessary part of our evolution personally and on a global scale.

Imagine… No Income for Four Months

I’m sure that many of you manual practitioners were faced with the reality that if we aren’t physically in our clinics, we aren’t able to earn an income. Our longest lockdown lasted almost four months.

Many of you would have experienced the same thing.

What have you decided to do to remedy this? What have you put in place for yourselves now so that you are prepared for the unexpected or for your retirement?

These past two years we managed our way around the pandemic. Many of us managed to retain our businesses where many others had to close their doors. I know that globally we will endure the pandemic.

What Happens When the Next Challenge Faces You?

But what happens when the next challenge faces you?  More than 3½ years ago I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, only four months after I purchased my clinic, Grey Lynn Osteopathy.  To add insult to injury, I happened to seek Income Protection Insurance on the same day as my diagnosis.

I underwent 12 weeks of chemotherapy every Tuesday. After sitting in the ward for 3½ hours I then went to the clinic to treat my patients in order to maintain a bit of normality as much as possible in my life, but so as not to lose my investment.

What the pandemic and my diagnosis made me realize was that, although I absolutely love what I do, I need to be able to earn a supplemental income that doesn’t require me to physically be present anywhere.

That’s why I decided to go online and try my hand at affiliate marketing.
